The Women’s Fund of El Paso, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization established in 2004. Our goal is to improve the status and quality of life for women and children in the El Paso area through purposeful and affordable philanthropy that connects women to the resources that foster education, leadership and economic growth. The Women’s Fund of El Paso seeks individuals, corporations and foundations to make an investment in women in our community. Consider these statistics:

There are over 38,000 female-headed households in El Paso, of which over half of their children are being raised in poverty.* Children raised in poverty are more likely to be malnourished and challenged in all areas of development.

There are over 5,000 children on a waiting list for subsidized daycare so their mothers can work.*
Women need alternatives so they can attend school and better provide for their families.
24% percent of women in El Paso are 18 years of age and older and have less than a 9th grade education, which is more than twice the percentage of females in Texas (11%) and more than three times the percentage of females in the United States (7%).* To attract higher paying jobs to El Paso, we need a more educated and skilled workforce.
The El Paso Police Department receives over 500 domestic violence-related calls each week.*
Research has proven that many women choose to stay in an abusive relationship due to financial dependency. Isolation and lack of knowledge about social services are other reasons why women stay in the relationships that destructively impact ways of learning in children.
